Mission
Local advocates for Brunswick charged with strategically repositioning underdeveloped 
city properties to ultimately enhance housing, 
business, and public space development 
opportunities for the community.

Vision
The Urban Redevelopment Agency will work 
collaboratively with government agencies, 
private developers, and local constituents to 
create a community that is attractive, social, 
resilient, welcoming, and healthy for 
businesses and residents. 

Values
Our guiding principle is to help create a community 
that is attractive, social, resilient, welcoming, and 
healthy for businesses and residents. Decisions 
will be guided by the following values:
· Reducing blight and increasing quality housing throughout all areas of the City.
· Preserving our historic aesthetic while meeting the modern needs of the community.
· Attracting and promoting property development opportunities that align with the City’s objectives.
· Strengthening our collaboration with, and connectivity to, the citizens and business owners of Brunswick

 


Meeting Schedule

2nd Wednesday of each month (Virtual) - Noon.
4th Wednesday of each month at Old City Hall - 2nd Floor 5:00 PM.

Membership Information

Urban Redevelopment Agency Board Members serve a three (3) year term. Members are appointed by the Mayor with the advice & consent of the Commission of the City of Brunswick.

Requirements
(i) Such person shall reside within five (5) miles of the City limits of the City of Brunswick, such constituting the “Area of Operation” of the Urban Redevelopment Agency of Brunswick as defined by O.C.G.A. Section 36-61-2; and,

(ii) Such person shall have been a resident of the area described above for a period of not less than three years as of the time of the appointment; and,

(iii) Such person shall own or operate a business within Area of Operation; or,
Such person shall have business experience in one of the following areas:
(a) Banking and/or finance;
(b) Real estate marketing, real estate development, and/or real estate law;
(c) Historic preservation and/or rehabilitation;
(d) Business management; or, tourism and/or hospitality.
