Vision Statement

Our department is here to help the youth of Brunswick have a loving, caring atmosphere in which to learn, grow and play. Hopefully this will encourage those who have been helped to return and help those in need.

Overview

The Brunswick Recreation and Parks Department serves as a support for the community by providing clean and safe parks, facilities, and highly productive recreation programs for the citizens of Brunswick. The Brunswick Recreation and Parks Department function collectively with two divisions; Programs and Parks.

The Office of the Director consists of the Director and the Administrative Secretary. Vanessa Booker serves as the Brunswick Recreation Department's Director. Since her arrival, Mrs. Booker has lead the department in the direction of re-establishing and maintaining the significance of productive recreation programs and beautiful safe park areas and facilities.

The Parks Division's primary responsibility is to maintain the landscape, secure safe equipment for parks, athletic areas, and facilities for the leisure enjoyment of citizens.

Popular Parks/Facilities' Locations and Descriptions:

Howard Coffin Park:
Location: 1402 Lanier Blvd
This park serves as the main headquarters for the department along with:

  • Four Tennis Courts/ Pickleball Courts
  • Four Baseball/Softball Diamonds
  • Two Soccer/Football Fields
  • Half-Mile Walking Track
  • Playgrounds/Picnic Areas

H Street Community Center:
Location: 1109 H Street
The center is equipped with popular and traditional recreational game tables, two classrooms, and a multi-purpose gymnasium to facilitates the recreational needs of youth and adults.

The Programs Division of the Brunswick Recreation and Parks Department is responsible for providing comprehensive recreation programs to fulfill the leisure needs for the youth and adults of the City of Brunswick. Special programs such as the Afterschool, Holiday, and Summer Day camps provide young citizens with the endless benefits of being in a structured and supervised environment. Listed below are the programs and the citizens that each program is targeted towards.

Youth:
