Due to record loss of some 19th century minutes, we are unable to comprehensively list every individual who held the title of Mayor in the City of Brunswick. Additionally, for a period of time the Mayor was selected by the City Commission, rather than elected at large. Similar to the role of Mayor Pro Tem, the "selected Mayor" held the title for one year and could be reselected to serve additional terms.
As a result, you may notice multiple individuals serving sporadic or very long terms. Conversely, you will also see many individuals served for only one (1) year. By the later 20th century term limits were imposed allowing for consistent record keeping of past Mayors.
The list below is a work-in-progress and only includes individuals that were Mayor for at least one (1) year.
