Purpose & Background

The Brunswick Downtown Development Authority was created in 1981. Brunswick was declared a Main Street City in 1986 by the National Trust for Historic Preservation, a movement built on the knowledge that a prosperous, sustainable community is only as healthy as its core. Main Street Brunswick and the Brunswick Downtown Development Authority work as two organizations in one. We are committed to the economic development, historic preservation, and beautification of Brunswick’s core commercial areas. Downtown Brunswick – a vibrant historic waterfront community offering a progressive array of entertainment, restaurants, shops, and distinctive charm, where people live, learn, work and play.

Meeting Schedule

The Downtown Development Authority meets on the 2nd Thursday of each month.

Membership Requirements

1. Taxpayer residing in the City of Brunswick;
2. Owners or operators of businesses located within the Downtown area and who shall be taxpayers residing in Glynn County; or
3. Persons having a combination of the qualifications specified in paragraphs (1) and (2) of the aformentioned qualifications.
