Legislative action in municipal government is the process of drafting, introducing, modifying, considering, then enacting or defeating a resolution, amendment, report, or ordinance that requires action by the City Commission. In an effort to inform the public of pending and passed legislative actions taken by the City Commission, please click on  the icons in the table below to view current legislation. Ordinances

 Ordinances are  local laws passed by a municipality that govern the health, safety, and welfare of the community. 

Resolutions

A resolution is a firm decision for or against something in the form of a written motion. Resolutions authorize and give consent to actions.

 

Proclamations & Resolutions

Proclamations are official declarations issued by the City Commission to make known - special events and occasions. Common proclamations issued by the City Commission annually include Red Ribbon Week and Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Resolutions are often used to celebrate, acknowledge, and remember the life, contributions, and accomplishments of an individual. A common resolution is the celebration of someone turning 100.
