Background

Naomi D. Atkinson was appointed as the City Clerk on November 20, 2007 and has 20+ years of experience in local government operations and management.

Naomi is a native of Brunswick and has been employed by the City of Brunswick since 1999, serving in the capacity as Deputy City Clerk, Legal Assistant and presently as City Clerk/Ex-Officio Tax Commissioner.

Naomi became a Certified Municipal Clerk in 2009 and maintains her Master Municipal Clerk certification.  Naomi is a member of the Georgia Municipal Association and International Institute of Municipal Clerks.

On February 7, 2022, Naomi was sworn in as the District 12 Director for the Georgia Municipal Clerks Association.

Education

Naomi holds a Bachelor’s degree in Office Administration from Savannah State University.

Mrs. Atkinson considers it an honor to serve the residents and elected officials of the City of Brunswick, as well as work with City staff to improve our City. Naomi is always eager to find new and innovative ways to increase service delivery and gain new experiences.
