The City of Brunswick launches “Brunswick Breeze,” a new affordable on-demand ride service powered by Via
The City of Brunswick announced the launch of Brunswick Breeze, a new on-demand ride service designed to make it easier and more affordable for residents and visitors to get around town without a personal vehicle.
With just a few taps in the Brunswick Breeze app (available on the App Store and Google Play), riders can book a shared trip in a comfortable van and get picked up nearby. The service is designed to be flexible, affordable, and accessible to all, including students, seniors, and residents with disabilities. Brunswick Breeze will be operated by Via, a leading provider of technology to power public transit networks.
The City of Brunswick’s decision to launch Brunswick Breeze underscores its commitment to providing high-quality public services for residents and visitors alike.
Standard local rides cost just $3 per trip, with discounted fares available for students, seniors, low-income residents, and military personnel. Trips to and from Brunswick Golden Isles Airport cost $12. As a special introductory offer, all rides will be free through November 16. Brunswick Breeze operates Monday–Thursday: 6:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m., Friday–Saturday: 6:00 a.m. – 10:30 p.m. and Sunday: 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
The program officially kicked off with a soft launch on September 16 and will be followed by a community showcase at First Friday on October 3 from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. at the intersection of Newcastle Street and Gloucester Street, where attendees can take a closer look at the vehicles and learn more about the program.
How to ride with Brunswick Breeze
- Download the Brunswick Breeze app from your preferred app store and complete the simple registration.
- Enter your pickup and drop-off addresses and choose the trip that best fits your needs.
- Check the app to find out exactly where to meet your driver. It may be a short walk, but it helps keep trips fast and efficient.
- Riders without a smartphone can book a trip by calling 912-574-2102. Wheelchair-accessible vehicles are available upon request.
