Public Works Department:
The City of Brunswick Public Works Department consists of five (5) divisions that provide essential services to the community. Public Works keeps our city clean and neat, handles our garbage, and yard trash collection, maintains our roads and streets, maintains the cities fleet of vehicles, maintains the lighting and building maintenance, maintains three city cemeteries, and much more. The following information lists those services along with the Division Supervisors and their phone numbers. Please feel free to contact any of us if you need information or assistance.

Background:
Joe Pereles has been a resident of the Brunswick area for over 15 years. He previously served as the Information Technology Director and later the Public Works Director for Glynn County. He has three children, and two grandchildren one of whom attends Brunswick High School.
Education:
Graduate of the Army Engineer School
Graduate of the Army Primary and Advanced Aviation School
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, University of Southern Mississippi
Master of Public Administration, Georgia Southern Universtiy

Call dispatch to report any problems with pavement or roads, trees, garbage pickup, City Code violations such as illegal dumping and litter,, traffic light or sign problems, and drainage or ditch problems. The number is good for emergency or non-emergency cases and can be called 24 hours a day including weekends and holidays.Pavement and Grounds Division:

The Pavement and Grounds Division is responsible for streets, storm water drainage systems, tree trimming, sidewalk maintenance, and heavy equipment operations. In general, responsible for the infrastructure of the City.Sanitation Division:

The Sanitation Division provides household garbage pickup, yard trimming pickup, and commercial dumpster services for a monthly fee. The monthly fee includes weekly dumping of household garbage, and yard trimmings (leaves, brush and limbs that do not exceed 4" in diameter or over 4" in length). Commercial dumpster fees vary with size of dumpster's and number of pickups per month. Other debris may be disposed of by request for an additional fee. The Cemetery Division maintains three cemeteries in the City; Palmetto Cemetery, Greenwood Cemetery, and Oak Grove Cemetery. The Cemetery Office is located on Ross Rd. Lots may be purchased through the office from 8:00 am until 4:30 pm Monday through Friday. The Cemetery's are open from daylight to dusk seven days a week.Traffic Control Division:

The Traffic Control Division maintains traffic signals, street lighting, and street and traffic signs throughout the City. In addition, they provide City Facility Electrical Maintenance on City owned property.Maintenance Division:
