Cemetery Division

The Cemetery Division maintains three cemeteries in the City; Palmetto Cemetery, Greenwood Cemetery, and Oak Grove Cemetery. The Cemetery Office is located near the entrance to Selden Park on Ross Rd. Lots may be purchased through the office from 8:00 am till 4:30 pm Monday through Friday. The cemeteries are open from daylight to dusk seven days a week. For lot availability and rate information call the cemetery office at (912)267-5518, Mon. - Fri. from 8:00 am until 4:00 pm.

Oak Grove Cemetery

Oak Grove Cemetery was Brunswick's first public cemetery, and has no available spaces. Buried here is Capt Douglas Risley the founder in 1867 of the cities first school for African Americans. Over 100 Confederate and Union soldiers are buried here as well.

Greenwood Cemetery

Greenwood Cemetery has a small number of spaces available for purchase only at the time of death. Spaces may not be purchased in advance. When one space is purchased the adjacent space may be purchased at the same time.
