The Building Department is responsible for ensuring public safety through the enforcement of codes regulating the design, construction, maintenance, repair, removal, demolition and occupancy of buildings. Permits are required for all new construction, alterations and some repairs. The Building Departmen provides information and building permits to commercial and residential builders, reviews plans and conducts inspections and assessments of potentially dangerous structures. It is the mission of the Building Department to make the permitting process as easy as possible. Forms needed for permitting are available below and should be filled out completely.
